Low Lift Trucks

Course Overview

This course aims to familiarize all material handling personnel with the potential hazards associated with industrial low lift trucks. It also provides comprehensive training on proper procedures for loading, maneuvering, and securing loads, as well as correct parking and storage practices. During the course participants with receive comprehensive training on truck operation, emphasizing both the unique characteristics of different truck types and safety practices.

 

Types of Low Lift Trucks

  1. Two wheel hand trucks
  2. Four wheel carts
  3. Pump trucks
  4. Powered pallet transporters


Duration: 4-6 hours of on-site instruction.

Course Topics

 At the completion of this course, participants will have acquired the following safety knowledge:

  • The Occupational Health and Safety Act and Regulations related to aerial lifts.
  • Different types of personnel lifts.
  • Procedures for pre-operation inspections.
  • Safe practices for re-fueling or recharging lifts.
  • Stability considerations for specific types of lifts.
  • Hands-on practical techniques for safe operation of aerial lifts.
